We Battle for Hope
Providing pediatric cancer patients and their families with the hope and resources they need to keep fighting.

Our story

Seth’s Squad was born from an extraordinary journey of courage, resilience, and love. Seth, the youngest of three boys, is a determined and spirited child who never lets anything hold him back. That determination was tested when he was diagnosed with B-cell lymphoblastic leukemia the day after Christmas in 2018.

What followed was a relentless battle that saw Seth undergo multiple rounds of chemotherapy, 2 bone marrow transplants with his brother as one of the donors, Kymirah CAR-T therapy, and a clinical trial of Humanized CAR-T therapy.

Seth receives primary treatment from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, treatment from Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville, KY, and clinical trial care from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Despite setbacks, 4 relapses, and grueling treatments, Seth never gave up. His unwavering spirit inspired his family and community to come together and create Seth’s Squad—a mission to provide pediatric cancer patients and their families with the hope and resources they need to keep fighting.

From hospital care bags to emotional support, Seth’s Squad honors Seth’s incredible journey by ensuring no child or family faces this battle alone.

Seth’s story is a testament to the power of resilience, innovative medical care, and the unbreakable bond of family and community.

Today, Seth is thriving in remission, and his legacy fuels our mission to make a difference for families fighting pediatric cancer.

What we do

  • Outpatient Carts

We stock carts and deliver toys, snacks and activities to brighten a child’s day during outpatient treatments

  • Online Support Groups for Parents

We provide a safe space for parents to connect, learn, share, and support one another during their child’s treatment journey. These groups are led by pediatric oncology social work professionals and parents of pediatric cancer patients.

  • Family Outings

We sponsor outings for the whole family including renting out movie theaters, trips to the zoo or sporting events so that local pediatric oncology families can connect while enjoying a fun day out.

  • Annual Toy Drive

Every September during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we collect new toys for kids with cancer. In 2024, we delivered toys to both Norton Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio

With your help, we can expand our programs and services to meet even more needs. Future programs include providing care bags to families both when they’re first admitted to the hospital and when they return home, and creating an assistance fund to help with a variety of expenses, from travel to utilities/mortgage assistance and even funeral costs.
From small acts of kindness to essential resources, every program is designed to bring hope, comfort, and support when it’s needed most. Together, we can make a difference.
